I am an independent freight agent. I move freight for shippers — dry van, reefer, flatbed, LTL, volume LTL, partial, box truck, intermodal, expedited — out of Portland, Oregon, nationwide. That is my job and that is how I make a living.

The Supported Shipper is not my job. It is the thing I do because the information gap in freight bothers me, and because I spent years on the side of the table that benefits from it.

The receipts

Almost 30 years across two careers. Twenty-three of them in legal affairs and business development — contracts, compliance, litigation, and learning which small detail becomes tomorrow's expensive problem. Almost seven of them in freight.

From 2020 through 2025 I was a freight broker at RXO. I ranked top 5 in my branch and top 20 companywide across multiple performance periods, exceeded 200% of minimum performance expectations, and moved 150-plus loads a month across 100-plus active customers — dry van, reefer, flatbed, LTL, intermodal, air, ocean, and expedited.

Since going independent I have moved 100-plus loads as an agent across reefer, dry van, box truck, expedited, LTL, and partial.

Why the education is free

Because charging for it would undercut the argument. The whole premise here is that shippers make expensive decisions without information that other people already have. It would be strange to say that out loud and then put a price on the fix.

So there is no paid tier. No monthly package, no review service, no consultation fee, no course, no email wall. Nothing here is a lead magnet with a teaching accent.

I am also not neutral, and I am not going to perform neutrality. I am a working freight agent. If reading this makes you think I would be useful to you, that is a good outcome for me. If it makes you better at working with the provider you already have, that is a good outcome too, and it is the more common one.
